I am so at home in Dublin, more than any other city, that I feel it has always been familiar to me. It took me years to see through its soft charm to its bitter prickly kernel - which I quite like too.

1916 Talks

 

A series of four talks will take place on successive Thursday lunchtimes during February and March at the Unitarian Church in St Stephen’s Green (West) in Dublin. On February 25th, Padraig Yeates will speak on political and social life in Dublin in 1916. On March 3rd, Elaine Sisson’s talk will be on Irish education and Patrick Pearse’s St Enda’s School. On March 10th, Mary Muldowney will address women in work, trade unions and the Irish Citizen Army. On March 24th, Martin Maguire will speak on Dublin Protestants and the Easter Rising. The talks take place between 1pm and 2pm. Entry is free and all are welcome.
